Last Week in Florence

This marks our last week in Florence. We are still having a great time, and look forward to move on to Venice and Milan. Today we went to San Miniato Monestary and the Santa Croce which is a few blocks from our apartment. This is where Dante and Michelangelo were buried. We also hiked up the huge hill to piazza Michelangelo and saw some really cool grave sites. This piazza also has one of the greatest views of Florence.

Back to Sienna

Yesterday we rode a bus back to Sienna. We went into a few museums, took a lot of pictures, and saw the interior of the duomo. We stayed up there for the entire day and had a lot of fun. These pictures are from Sienna and other places we have been.

Florence, Italy

We have been having regular classes now, and have enjoyed every minute of being in Florence. Here are some photos of Florence and past adventures. I am sorry that I have not been updating this blog as quickly as I used to, once we get back on the road it should be a little faster. -ellie-

Pisa, Lucca, San Gimigimiano, Sienna, Volteria, Florence, and too many other places.

On Friday we rented a car with Blair and Mandy and zipped around Tuscany to all of these little towns. We took these day trips over the two days that we had away from the students and classes. Today, we went to the small LDS branch for church. Our student group overwhelmed the entire branch, so we ended up going to class while we waited for the first group of students had sacrament meeting. Of course, we understood very little of what was said, but we still had a good time, I almost nodded of in Sunday School. We are still having a great time, and hope you are all doing well. Buona sera?

Our First Day in Florence

Today we climbed the huge Duomo, found our permanent apartment, and walked around Florence. We found a great sandwich shop for lunch and settled on the streets for a break after walking around all morning. Bethanne showed us where we would be meeting for our upcoming classes, and we bought a lot of paints for the students to use in the days to come. We later transfered our luggage for the final time to our apartment and went grocery shopping. Tonight we await the arrival of Blake and his daughter.

Finally in Florence

We finally made it to Florence! To start the day off we went to an amazing hill town a little ways away from Florence. It was amazing to see how the people lived in this little town. We even saw Rick Steves. After taking a two hour break in this sweet town we traveled to Florence. The rest of the day was spent on fixing our apartment fiasco. After realizing where we are going to spend the night, we unpacked and settled in. Tomorrow we will climb the Duomo and see more of Florence.

Colosseum in Rome, Italy

Yesterday we got on the Subway and rode over to the Colosseum. We had a great time, took lots of pictures, and looked over the enormous space of Roman ruins. The pizza is great and so are the gelati. I am sorry if I have not updated this blog, we have really bad internet at the hotel. All of the 25 girls fight for the 2 internet spots as soon as we get home. Some of them stay up till 12 pm to email their parents for 5 minutes. Tomorrow is the "moving day." We will take a bus to Pompeii and Naples, go to three museums, and all in one day. We are all having a great time, and hope you are all having the same amount of fun as we are. These pictures are my newly taken panoramas. Just to let the Gilletts know, I am not homesick. Ciao!
